First Nations VR Truth-Telling Documentary Initiative

Stage Two applications opening soon.

The First Nations VR Documentary Initiative is a special initiative designed to uncover distinctive WA First Nations voices, support their career progression and enable practitioners to explore new story-telling mediums and markets. The initiative will take place over three stages, starting with a compulsory online workshop on 4 October 2024.

AFTRS Production Accounting Intensive

Screenwest and AFTRS are offering one WA practitioner a complimentary spot in the AFTRS Production Accounting Intensive, taking place in Perth in September 2024. The course will provide the knowledge and skills required for a career as a Production Accountant – a role much in demand in the screen industry.

AFTRS Assistant Director Fundamentals Course

Applications are now closed.

Screenwest and AFTRS are offering one WA practitioner a complimentary spot in the AFTRS Assistant Director Fundamentals course, taking place in Perth in July 2024. The course will provide practitioners with an understanding of Assistant Directing and the opportunity to meet other industry professionals.

Tele-Navigator 2024

Applications are now closed.

The initiative is designed for writers, directors and/or producers with television concepts that can be produced in WA. Up to six WA creative teams or individuals will be selected to participate in a development workshop with leading Australian TV producers.

2024 Brian Beaton Award

The award recognises the valuable contribution esteemed late documentary producer Brian Beaton made to the WA screen industry and honours his memory, by annually awarding a grant to filmmaker/s who have a current social impact project that needs further support to reach its full potential.

Indonesian Marketplace 2:1 - Matched Development Fund

Applications are now closed.

Part of the Australia – Indonesia Fast Track Initiative, the Indonesian Marketplace 2:1 – Matched Development Fund will provide two dollars for every one dollar of confirmed marketplace commitment. The commitment must be from a recognised international market partner with direct access to South East Asian (SEA) territories.
