Documentary Production Fund

Applications close Monday, 17 February 2025 at 5:00pm AWST.

Documentary Production Funding provides support to Western Australian Producers with distinctive, high quality and diverse projects with strong Western Australian outcomes.

The fund provides production finance for feature length documentary films and factual series with significant marketplace attachments from traditional and online platforms and distributors.

Western Australian Resident Producers with eligible projects that entered post-production on or after 1 January 2024 will be invited to apply for the WA Producer Development Investment and Travel funding. The Travel funding can only be applied to future travel and cannot be applied to retrospective travel activities.

Development funding caps apply as per the Screenwest Terms of Trade.

All productions that receive Screenwest production funding over $100,000 are required to budget for and offer a Western Australian BTL Mentorship and/or Attachment opportunity through the Below-the-Line (BTL) Crew Capacity Program in consultation with Screenwest.
