Two attachment opportunities on Aussie Gold Hunters Season 8
An Edit Assistant professional attachment and a Production Coordinator professional attachment are available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on season 8 of Electric Pictures' documentary series Aussie Gold Hunters. Applications close Monday, 29 August at 5:00pm AWST.
About Aussie Gold Hunters
Now in its eighth season, hit Discovery series Aussie Gold Hunters portrays the real-life events of gold hunting teams as they metal detect and mine in the spectacular goldfields of Western Australia, Queensland and the south-eastern state of Victoria. The series is produced by Western Australian production company Electric Pictures.
About the Attachments
Role: Edit Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 12 September – Friday, 14 October 2022 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Electric Pictures
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as an Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of of Edit Assistants Jarrod Burton and Andrew Slate where they will:
- Work within an established workflow that manages an extremely high density of rushes encompassing multi-cam, multi-GoPro, and off-speed material.
- Gain experience working within Avid Media Composer to a standard expected by industry, including work with Avid projects/bins, media, and Avid Nexis.
- Be integrated into an edit assistant team environment where goals, work and knowledge are shared to achieve a fast turnaround.
- Gain insight into the technical procedures from raw rushes to a final picture lock from an assistant perspective.
- Develop an understanding the management of a multi-editor project.
- Gain the skills and insights on how to manage a project, rushes, media and working within a team environment to achieve goals on a 20-part returnable series.
- Gain experience to help develop their own workflows and procedures to facilitate seamless transition from raw materials through to delivery to an online suite for finishing.
Role: Production Coordinator Attachment
Dates: Monday, 3 October – Friday, 4 November 2022 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Electric Pictures
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as a Production Coordinator Attachment under the expert guidance of Line Producer Jill Bailey where they will:
- Work within an established workflow that manages the daily production management of a multi-episode series in an extremely fast-paced environment.
- Gain experience working with call sheets, schedules and rushes transportation in the word and excel program space to a standard expected by industry.
- Be integrated into the production office team environment where goals, work and knowledge are shared to achieve a fast turnaround.
- Gain insight into the unique production procedure for a global franchise from story concept to final picture lock and delivery from a production management perspective.
- Gain the skills and insights into aspects of production management and the workflow required to deliver a 20-part returnable series.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
Edit Assistant
- Genuine interest to pursue a career in post-production.
- Previous experience with Avid Media Composer editing software.
- Experience in media management and preparing rushes for editors.
- Completed a tertiary education in Film and TV.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Initiative, attention to detail and problem solving ability.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and take direction from editors and senior staff.
Production Coordinator
- Genuine interest to pursue a career in production management.
- Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Completed a tertiary education in Film and TV.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Problem solving attitude and desire to learn.
- Extra consideration will be given to those applicants who have prior project management or coordination expertise.
