In Conversation with Director Grant Sputore and VFX artist Dave McDonnell

Screenwest is excited to present a special event with visual effects artist Dave McDonell from Last Pixel and director Grant Sputore fromThe Penguin Empire, as they discuss how they used virtual production for Pre-viz on the feature film I AM MOTHER (Netflix 2019).

WA industry creatives are invited to learn about McDonnell’s process with the team at Last Pixel, and their development of a virtual reality and storyboarding location scouting tool, which integrated and fast tracked their pre-production. This tool enabled them to create real VFX and ensured accurate and quick workflow processes.

Grant Sputore and Dave McDonnell will demonstrate how pre-visualisation was used in I AM MOTHER, including the use of virtual stand-ins, CAD accurate virtual sets as well as real location data to enable director Sputore to plan the creative and technical challenges of the film.
