German Film Festival Perth

Presented by Palace, the German Film Festival is excited to expand its footprint in 2019, screening at Palace Cinema Paradiso, Northbridge & Palace Raine Square, Perth from 28 May ? 12 June.

With the best new films from Germany, this year’s program, presented in collaboration with German Films, showcases award-winning dramas straight from Berlinale, from feel-good comedies and psychological thrillers plus festivalfavourites, works of auteurs as well as the brightest new talent. The German Film Festival program features a great selection of 28 films, 26 of them Australian Premieres.

This year 2019 marks a very special 30th anniversary: The fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 Nov, following a peaceful revolution in the GDR. Showing BALLOON on Opening Night, Mack the Knife ? Brecht’s Threepenny Film for our Special Event film on June 6, and 88 years after its initial release of The 3 Penny Opera to close the festival.
