Screenwest will be hosting an information session with Jason Behan from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group (UPHE ContentGroup) and Matthew Horrocks Screenwest Head of Strategic Projects and Screen Investment to talk about the two new development initiatives.

Fast Pitch
Universal and Screenwest are offering a one-off exclusive opportunity for a Western Australian writer to secure a development and first look option deal withUniversal Pictures Home Entertainment Content Group (UPHE Content Group).
The recipient will receive up to a total of $20,000 in development support towards a scripted feature film project. UPHE Content Group will have the first option to produce and distribute the film in Australia.
The aim of the initiative is to provide market-based development so that once the script is ready, it can fast track into financing and production.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to pitch their projects to UPHE Content Group.
Applicants who make it through to the next stagewill then have four weeks to re-work and further develop their one-page pitch document. UPHE Content Group will work directly with the shortlisted applicants to provide them with additional story development guidance during this time.

Small Screen
Small Screen is a development initiative that offers new, emerging and experienced Western Australian storytellers the opportunity to get their scripted series ready for market.
The initiative is designed as a precursor to Screenwest’s Matched Development fund and is part of Screenwest’s overall strategic objective to increase the number of dramas and comedy series commissioned from Western Australia for the small screen (television, streaming service or webcontent).
