About the series
The Twelve is an eight-part gripping crime drama which follows a controversial murder trial seen through the lens of the jurors – 12 ordinary Australians who are facing their own realities and struggles.
About the attachment
Role: Video Split Operator / Camera Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 14 August – Friday, 10 November 2023 (13 weeks + TBC pre-production dates in week commencing 7 August)
Location: Perth, WA – some travel may be required
Production Company: The Twelve Films S2 Pty Ltd
The successful candidate will complete 13 consecutive weeks as a paid Video Split Operator / Camera Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of the 1st ACs within the Camera Department, where they will:
- Gain experience and understanding of what is required to work professionally as a Video Split Operator / Camera Assistant.
- Develop an understanding of how the Film & TV Industry operators and OH&S requirements.
- Develop a deeper understanding of the process of the camera department on a television series, including aspects such as:
- Learning how to set up and operate split monitors;
- Keeping monitors clean and easy for the directors to see;
- Setting up and using battery charging stations;
- earning cable management and safety.
- Learn to effectively collaborate and communicate with the camera team and other crew members in a fast past environment.
Some travel to regional WA may be required. The production will provide accommodation, per diems and travel costs if travel is required.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Experience within a camera department and familiarity with department protocols.
- The ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills.
- A curiosity for technology and camera equipment.
- A good level of fitness as some lifting is required.
- Own transport or ability to make their way to locations.
