About the attachments
Role: Edit Assistant Attachment
Dates – Attachment #1: Monday, 8 April – Friday, 10 May 2024 (five weeks)
Dates – Attachment #2: Monday, 20 May 2024 – Friday, 21 June 2024 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Prospero Productions
The successful candidates will complete five consecutive weeks as a paid Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of Series Producer Meredith Watson Jeffrey ASE, where they will:
- Gain an understanding of the responsibilities and requirements of being an Edit Assistant and understand the purpose of the Offline Editor and how they work with the Series Producer on editorial feedback from Executive Producers.
- Have an opportunity to sit on and contribute to weekly post team meetings regarding media management.
- Gain hands-on experience and understand post-production workflows and best practices in ingesting footage and synching media for editors.
- Gain an understanding of the process of rough cuts, fine cuts and picture lock, online and final delivery.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for these roles, the attachments may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- A demonstrated and genuine interest in a career in the post-production department.
- Have experience working with Avid Media Composer.
- The ability to follow instructions, and to use initiative and common sense.
- Basic skills in Excel and Word.
Desirable traits include:
- Good communication skills
- Problem solving
