About the attachment
Role: Junior Props Buyer Attachment
Dates: Monday, 19 June 2023 (minimum eight weeks)
Location: Perth WA, some travel may be required
The successful candidate will complete a minimum eight consecutive weeks as a paid Junior Props Buyer Attachment under the expert guidance of the Assistant Art Director, Props Master and Senior Buyer, where they will:
- Assist in the creation and management of hand props.
- Assist in buying and dressing for new sets and location.
- Learn how to work within a large team and the collaboration required.
- Gain an understanding of the workflow within the Art Dept and how to work within the larger crew on set.
- Develop an understanding of how to break down a script.
- Develop an understanding of how to fulfil a creative brief provided by the Production Designer or Set Decorator.
- Make excellent professional connections within the Screen Industry.
Some travel to regional WA may be required. The production will provide accommodation, per diems and travel costs if travel is required.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- A driver’s license and own vehicle.
- The ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication skills.
- A good level of fitness as some lifting and moving props is required.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:
- Basic WH&S Awareness
- Confidence in asking for advice and working without supervision when required.
