About the attachment
Role: Extras Costume Standby Attachment
Dates: Monday, 17 July 2023 – Friday, 6 October 2023
Location: Perth WA, some travel may be required
The successful candidate will complete 12 consecutive weeks as a paid Extras Costume Standby Attachment under the expert guidance of the Costume Designers, Costume Supervisor and Key Costume Standby, where they will:
- Assist in costume preparation for extras, including breakdowns, cutting, sewing, and fitting.
- Liaise with production about inventory control and fittings.
- Learn how to work within a large team and the collaboration required.
- Undertake on-set responsibilities for continuity amongst background extras including:
- managing daily workflow,
- document management re continuity notes/photos,
- laundry requirements,
- keeping inventory & workspace organized.
- Develop enhanced communication skills in briefing extras as to their costume requirements.
- Gain an understanding of script breakdowns.
- Make excellent professional connections within the screen industry.
Some travel to regional WA may be required. The production will provide accommodation, per diems and travel costs if travel is required.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- The ability to follow instructions.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to organize continuity photos, breakdowns.
- Good communication skills.
- Confidence in asking for advice and working with large groups of extras.
- A good level of fitness as some lifting etc, is required.
- Ability to make own way to any Perth-based location.
