About the series
We Bury the Dead follows Ava (Daisy Ridley), a desperate woman whose husband is missing in the aftermath of a catastrophic military experiment. Hoping to find him alive, Ava joins a “body retrieval unit”, but her search takes a chilling turn when the corpses she’s burying start showing signs of life.
About the Attachment
Role: Editorial Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 26 February – Friday, 26 April 2024 (nine weeks)
Location: Perth
Production Company: WBTD Film Productions Pty Ltd
The successful candidate will complete nine consecutive weeks as a paid Editorial Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of the Editor, where they will:
- Gain an understanding of the feature film editorial process and work with an experienced editorial team.
- Gain hands-on experience and have opportunities to upskill organisational techniques.
- Gain understanding of editorial workflow.
- Work collaboratively with the editorial team and work towards daily and weekly targets.
- Develop organisational skills/techniques.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for these roles, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- A demonstrated and genuine interest in a career in the post-production department.
- A basic understanding of dramatic action in a scene i.e. reading a script and laying out the beats in order.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Confidence in asking questions.
- The ability to work in a timely manner.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with:
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Rudimentary knowledge of After Effects.
- Some drama editorial experience.
