Edit Assistant Attachment on Aussie Gold Hunters Season 7
A Professional Attachment opportunity is available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming Observational Documentary Series, Aussie Gold Hunters Season 7. Applications close Wednesday the 8th of September at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Attachment
The successful candidate will complete a five week Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of where they will:
- work within an established workflow that manages an extremely high density of rushes which encompasses multi-cam, multi-GoPro, and off-speed material.
- Gain experience working within Avid Media Composer to a standard expected by industry, including work with Avid projects/bins, media, and Avid Nexis.
- Be integrated into an edit assistant team environment where goals, work and knowledge are shared to achieve a fast turnaround.
- Gain insight into the technical procedures from raw rushes to a final picture lock from an assistant perspective.
- Develop an understanding the management of a multi-editor project like Aussie Gold Hunters
- gain the skills and insights on how to manage a project, rushes, media and working within a team environment to achieve goals on a 20- part returnable series.
- gain experience to help develop their own workflows and procedures to facilitate seamless transition from raw materials through to delivery to an online suite for finishing

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Previous experience with editing software (Avid preferred but not essential)
- Experience in media management and preparing rushes for editors would be an advantage.
- Initiative, attention to detail and problem solving ability.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines and take direction from editors and senior staff.
Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- Comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.

Acceptance of any additional application materials after this date is subject to Screenwest’s discretion.
Applications will be accepted through the Screenwest SmartyGrants Portal with application forms going live on Thursday, 26 August 2021. Do not email applications directly to individual Screenwest staff members.
You can start your application at any time once the portal opens. You can save your progress and return to it at any time before the deadline. Do not start your application the day it is due.
An application receipt will be automatically forwarded to the applicant from SmartyGrants to confirm that Screenwest has received the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact Screenwest if an application receipt has not been received within two working days.
