About the series
In this adaptation of Chris Hammer’s best-selling second novel Silver, Martin Scarsden has returned to his coastal hometown, Port Silver, to set up a new life with partner Mandy Bond. When he arrives to find his childhood friend Jasper brutally murdered and Mandy the prime suspect, Martin makes it his duty to find the real murderer and absolve Mandy. In the process, he confronts hidden truths about Port Silver and his own long buried past.
About the Attachment
Role: Art Department Props Buyer/Dresser
Dates: Monday, 6 May – Friday, 12 July 2024 (10 weeks)
Location: Perth & South West region
Production Company: Third Act Stories & Easy Tiger Productions
The successful candidate will complete 10 consecutive weeks as a paid Art Department Props Buyer/ Dresser Attachment under the expert guidance of Art Director, Danielle Fernandes and Production Designer, Fiona Donovan, where they will:
- Have the opportunity to shadow the Production Designer and Art Director on a TV series.
- Gain an understanding of how the art department is structured and run on a TV series from pre-production through to filming.
- Attend key meetings and experience all aspects of the department.
- Work through the key tasks at all levels with the script and servicing the set from the perspective of the art department.
The production will provide accommodation, per diems and travel costs to the Attachment if they are required to travel away from home.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Good attention to detail;
- A good work ethic;
- A demonstrated and genuine commitment to working within the art department;
- A desire to learn new skills;
- A hands on approach.
Experience in computer drafting or modelling – modelmaking, craft, building art or scenic skills is also desirable.
Applicants based in the South West region will be highly desirable.
