Applications open for travel funding to attend GDC 2024

Screenwest has opened a competitive travel round to provide a limited number of WA games studios and developers with funding support to attend the Game Developer Conference (GDC) 2024.

GDC is the game industry’s premiere professional event, championing game developers and the advancement of their craft. GDC brings the game development community together to exchange ideas, solve problems, and shape the future of the industry across five days of education, inspiration and networking.

GDC will take place held at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco from 18 – 22 March 2024.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a Western Australian resident and meet the general eligibility requirements set out in the Screenwest Terms of Trade.
• Be a Western Australian based digital games studio, independent developer or industry practitioner.

As this is a competitive funding round, a set amount of $5,000 to assist with flights, accommodation and registration will be provided and as such, a budget is not required as part of the application.

Screenwest will only fund one person per project / company to attend GDC 2024.

WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

How to Apply

Applications can be made through Screenwest’s SmartyGrants portal.

Applications will be assessed against the Screenwest Travel Support Guidelines criteria.

Applications for GDC 2024 close Monday, 22 January 2024 at 5:00pm AWST.
