About Our Law
Our Law is a six-part documentary series currently filming across WA, which will premiere on NITV in 2022. The series will ask the question, “Could Indigenous police officers be the ultimate front-line in changing police culture and rebuilding trust with Aboriginal peoples?” Produced by Taryne Laffar and Sam Bodhi Field and directed by Perun Bonser.
About the Attachment
Role: 2nd Assistant Editor Attachment
Dates: Monday, 22 November – Friday, 24 December 2021 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Pink Pepper and Periscope Pictures
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks under the expert guidance of Assistant Editor, Ivan Rojas where they will:
- Gain experience using DaVinci Resolve by managing media and transcoding footage to be used on editorial.
- Gain experience liaising with the camera and sound department.
- Acquire organization skills to track and manage high volume of footage.
- Gain experience using Avid Media Composer to prepare media for multiple editors.
- Learn how to customise Avid workflow and tools to maximize creative output.
- When possible; the successful Attachment will be given the opportunity to mark up and assemble stories.
- Observe the process of editorial decisions for fine cut.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
Essential:
- Genuine interest to pursue a career in Post-Production.
- Good knowledge of computer technology and experience using Avid Media Composer software.
- Completed a tertiary education in Film and TV.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good work ethic and attention to detail.
- Problem solving attitude and desire to learn.
Recommended:
- Familiar with the use of DaVinci resolve software.
- Portfolio of previous experience in Post-Production.
