It was a heartfelt celebration of Screenwest CEO Ian Booth’s ten-year tenure and his leadership of the Western Australian Screen Industry at the Heath Ledger Foyer of the State Theatre Centre on Monday, 11 December 2017.
Screenwest would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended across the screen industry and partners who have been integral in bringing Screenwest’s funding programs and initiatives to life, enhancing the vibrancy of our industry.
Special guests included Lotterywest CEO Susan Hunt and Board Member Stephen Carre; Bruce Manning, CEO of Great Southern Development Commission and Ngor Tan Country Manager, China at the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
A special thanks to those who spoke: Duncan Ord OAM, Director General of Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries; Ed Punchard, Managing Director of Prospero Films; and Anni Browning, Managing Director of Film Finances. The audience also heard from Rikki Lea Bestall, Screenwest Head of Development and Production and Screenwest Chair Janelle Marr who, on behalf of the Board, presented Ian with a beautiful Christian Fletcher print.
Stephen Pigram, one of the producers of WA production MAD BASTARDS who also performed with his band on the ARIA nominated soundtrack for MAD BASTARDS, as well as on the BRAN NUE DAE and AUSTRALIA soundtracks, surprised all guests with his performance.
The event also marked the local screen industry’s end of year catch up, an opportunity to network with new and old colleagues and reflect on the accomplishments of the year gone.
Thanks to Perth Theatre Trust for providing the venue and all involved in bringing the event to life.
