Role: Assistant Producer Attachment
Dates: Monday, 2 October – Friday, 3 November 2023 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Artemis Media
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as a paid Assistant Producer Attachment under the expert guidance of the Series Director and Senior Producers, where they will:
- Develop an understanding of the story selection process.
- Gain an understanding of the story process in an ongoing and busy production office.
- Learn the consent requirements and administrative paperwork needs of an observation documentary series, including:
- Scheduling;
- Contributor management and communications;
- Release form tracking; and
- Research support.
- Develop an understanding of how different teams work collaboratively to achieve a documentary series.
- Work alongside the Series Director and two Producers to assist them in their day-to-day on location and production office duties.
- Work closely with the field crew.
- Undertake behind the scenes stills photography & logging.
- Provide on-set support for the producing team during shoot days, including liaising with third-party stakeholders and contributors.
- Learn how to do shot listing and organization for General Vision.
Please note: some evening and weekend work may be required.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Great communication skills – confidence approaching contributors.
- Attention to detail.
- A collaborative nature – take instruction and guidance well.
- An ability to demonstrate initiative.
- An ability to demonstrate good story instincts.
- A full clean driver’s licence.
Special consideration will be given to applications with previous experience as a Production Assistant and/or Researcher with stills photography experience.

Role: Edit Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 9 October – Friday, 10 November 2023 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Artemis Media
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as a paid Edit Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of the Post-Production Supervisor, where they will:
- Gain an understanding of the post-production roles, requirements, procedures and processes of a multi-editor documentary series.
- Be a part of and supported by an experienced post-production team during the principal photography period as media is ingested from daily field shoots.
- Work closely with the post team that manages an extremely high density of rushes encompassing multi-cam and off-speed material.
- Liaise with the editorial and production teams to assist when needed.
- Gain experience working within Avid Media Composer to a standard expected by industry, including work with Avid projects/bins, media, and Avid Nexis.
- Gain insight into an Edit Assistant team environment where goals, work and knowledge are shared to achieve a fast turnaround.
- Assist with technical procedures from ingesting raw rushes to a final picture lock from an assistant perspective.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- A demonstrated interest to pursue a career in post-production.
- Previous experience with Avid Media Composer editing software.
- Experience in media management to process rushes for editors.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Initiative, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- A desire to learn.
Special consideration will be given to applicants that have completed tertiary education in film and television.
