The City of Bunbury is officially Film Friendly
Located in WA's South West, Bunbury has been accredited as officially Film Friendly, streamlining their filming processes and appointing a Film Liaison Officer to create awareness, attract productions to the region and provide producers with a seamless experience across all stages of production.
Screenwest is pleased to announce that the City of Bunbury has officially been accredited as Film Friendly.
Located on Wardandi Country in Western Australia’s South West region, Bunbury is a two-hour drive from Perth and is a vibrant seaside port city surrounded by beautiful waterways. Serving as the economic hub for the South West and with a population of over 30,000, Bunbury is well positioned to welcome and support productions of different shapes and sizes.
Bunbury has streamlined their filming processes and appointed a Film Liaison Officer to create awareness, attract productions to the region and provide producers with a seamless experience across all stages of production.
Bunbury has also created a Film Asset Database, encouraging locals to add their locations, homes and vehicles to a database that can be shared with incoming filmmaking teams.
“Since the filming of The Naked Wanderer in Bunbury back in 2019, the City has received increased interest from filmmakers to film in Bunbury, due to our can-do attitude, reduced fees and beautiful natural attributes. This encouraged the City to become accredited as a Film Friendly destination. Besides showcasing our beautiful City, we hope this accreditation will help support our local community by providing opportunities for South West-based practitioners to join the casts and crews of inbound screen productions.” said Juaini Taylor, City of Bunbury Film Liaison Officer.
Further details and application permits are available on the City of Bunbury website here.
