The second intake of the Screenwest Diversity Fund – Stream 2 is now accepting applications, with the round open until Thursday, 12 April 2018 at 5:00pm WST.
Launched in September 2017, the Screenwest Diversity Fund provides funding to production companies, organisations and/or individuals to overcome barriers preventing Western Australian community members from underrepresented groups from participating in professional screen industry activities.
Screenwest invites filmmakers and organisations to an information session with Simone Flavelle, Screenwest Inclusion Manager on Thursday, 15 March from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Fielder St Creative, 30 Fielder Street East Perth, to hear about the Diversity Fund.
Register your attendance by sending your name and any access requirements to Simone at diversity@screenwest.com.au.
The information session will cover:
- The intent of the Screenwest Diversity Fund Guidelines
- Funding available
- Eligibility
- Application process
- How to apply – step by step explanation of the application and budget templates
Please read through the Diversity Fund Guidelines before registering.
The recipients of the first intake of the Screenwest Diversity Fund – Stream 2 were announced on 7 February and their projects are underway.
What is Diversity and Inclusion?
The Australian Human Rights Commission refers to diversity as the differences that distinguish groups of people from one another. More specifically, as identified in the industry Roadmap and adopted for this Plan, Screenwest recognises diversity as differences in gender; age; Aboriginal identity; cultural and linguistic diversity (CaLD); disability; sexuality and gender identities, including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (LGBTQI+); location (including regional and remote regions) and socio-economic status.
