SBS & NITV Meet the Broadcasters Pitching Sessions and Networking Event
SBS and NITV are heading to Perth to hear pitches from Western Australian filmmakers and discuss SBS’s commissioning policies on Tuesday, 3 September 2019.
The Meet the Broadcaster event will provide practitioners with the opportunity to expand their understanding of SBS commissioning and make connections with the Executive Team.
The event comprises two halves:
- A day-time pitch session at Screenwest, where selected applicants will have the opportunity to meet with the Executive Team in individual sessions to pitch their projects and discuss ideas.
- An evening presentation and networking event at the WA Maritime Museum.
The executive team includes:
- Marshall Heald (Director, TV & Online Content)
- Chris Irvine (Head of Commercial & Production)
- Joseph Maxwell (Head of Documentaries)
- Tanya Denning-Orman (NITV Channel Manager)
Pitching Sessions
Date: Tuesday, 3 September 2019
Time: Sessions available from 1:00pm to 3:00pm
Where: Screenwest, 30 Fielder Street, East Perth WA 6004
The SBS and NITV executives will hold individual sessions with pre-selected practitioners to pitch their projects and discuss their ideas.
How to Apply
To express interest in a meeting, please submit a completed application form to funding@screenwest.com.au by 5:00pm AWST on Friday, 16 August 2019.
An application receipt will be forwarded to the applicant within two working days to confirm that Screenwest has received the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact Screenwest if an application receipt has not been received within this timeframe.

Please note: Screenwest is not responsible for assessing pitching session applications. Successful applicants will be selected by SBS and NITV.

This evening event will feature a special presentation to provide updates on the commissioning slate for 2019/2020 with a Q&A session, concluding with networking over drinks and nibbles.
