Screenwest in partnership with Panavision and the WA chapter of the Australian Cinematographer Society is offering a series of workshops on Thursday, 2 May and Friday, 3 May 2019 at Johnny Ma Studios in Maylands.
The workshops will be run by Panavision’s Nic Godoy for cinematographers, camera department crew, directors, producers and production managers.
About the Workshops
Using Panavision’s array of camera and lenses, the hands-on workshops will show
- how the technology influences the creative elements to visual story-telling
- explain modern filming techniques, and
- the evolution of filmmaking.
Workshops will incorporate video references, ‘lit set’ demonstrations and theory presentations.
And in a WA first, Panavision will showcase their renowned inventory of Anamorphic, Spherical, Large Format lenses and the Panavision Millenium DXL2 Camera.
Each workshop will be split into three sessions, tailored to different groups. Please note there are limited slots available for each session.

Panavision Sponsorship Pitch for Elevate and Generate teams
Only open to Elevate and Generate Teams.
Panavision is offering support, mentorship and sponsorship of camera and lens prizes (up to $5000 in rental value) to three Elevate and Generate filmmaker teams. Interested teams will need pitch the story of their project with a focus on how the visual elements will help to execute the script so Panavision understands how their sponsorship will enhance the storytelling.
The teams will have up to 10 minutes to pitch.
Panavision will then announce the winners at the Sundowner event on Friday, 3 May 2019.

About Nic Godoy
Nic joined Panavision in 1999 and has over 20 years’ experience. Nic has worked across varied sectors of the Film and TV industry in technical and consultant roles. He is an accredited executive member of the Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts (AACTA), Screen Producers Australia (SPA) and Australian Cinematographer Society (ACS).
