New Scripted Development rounds now open

Screenwest is pleased to announce the Scripted Concept Development Fund and the Scripted Project Development Fund rounds are now open. These are the first rounds to open under the revised scripted development guidelines.

The Scripted Concept Development Fund and the Scripted Project Development Fund have replaced the Scripted Development Investment Fund Stages 1 and 2. A summary of the key changes are below.

The purpose of this fund is to develop early-stage ideas and get projects ‘market ready’ by preparing materials that can be used to secure marketplace development funds.

• Two funding rounds per year instead of four
• Funding remains at $10,000 per application/ project
• The maximum cap of $10,000 per project remains
• Applicants may now only submit one project per round
• At least one member of the key creative team (EP, producer, director, writer) must now have a commercially distributed/released feature, series or equivalent credit in the last 5 years

The purpose of the fund is to accelerate the development of projects which can demonstrate a strong pathway to audience and/or attract further investment.

• Four funding rounds per year remains
• Funding has increased from $20,000 to $25,000 per application/ project
• Funding caps remain the same
• At least one member of the key creative team (EP, producer, director, writer) must have a commercially distributed/released feature, series or equivalent credit in the last 5 years; OR supply evidence of market interest in the project from a bonafide broadcaster, network, streaming service, theatrical distributor and/or sales agent.
