The Jewish International Film Festival (JIFF) returns to Perth from Wednesday, 7 November to Sunday, 18 November at Greater Union Cinemas, Morley.
From star-studded stories to emotional war dramas and marvelous musical mayhem, the 2018 JIFF program features over 60 films from 23 countries, including 31 features and 28 documentaries.
The festival also features the world premiere of 2018 JIFF Short Film Funded shorts THE BIRTH OF HUNTER FINKELSTEIN and THANK G-D.
“We have had the honour of gathering the creative sparks inherent in each of the films in our 2018 collection,” said JIFF Artistic Director, Eddie Tamir. “Together they spotlight this Jewish moment in time and resonate universally.”
“This year’s festival will celebrate the rich tapestry of Jewish culture, from powerful stories championing wonderfully Jewish perspectives, to a collaboration with significant Jewish and arts organisations across Australia.”

Festival Highlights
SOBIBOR | Special Event Screening
Commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Sobibor uprising, Cultural Centre Shalom presents a special event screening of SOBIBOR.
The historical drama directed by Russian film icon Konstantin Khabenskiy accounts the only successful mass breakout from a Nazi extermination camp in history. The film was made in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the camp rebellion.
This special event screening will include an introduction from writer Alice Nelson (AFTER THIS), post-screening book sales and signings, and a photo exhibition in remembrance of the extraordinary heroism and resistance.
