Program Overview
Matchbox WA and Screenwest have partnered to provide a Directors Attachment opportunity for a mid to advanced career Western Australian Indigenous Director. Applications close 5:00pm WST on Monday, 2 July 2018.
This attachment will be on THE HEIGHTS, a 30 x ½ hour television series for the ABC. The series is currently filming in Perth until end September 2018.
Indigenous Western Australian directors who possess at least two broadcast or theatrical credits and who are looking to develop their career in Television are encouraged to apply.
Through the initiative the successful candidate will undertake a Director attachment with Matchbox WA, shooting in Perth for up to eight weeks. This will include hands-on experience and high-level industry mentoring.
This attachment is aimed at progressing and developing the career of an WA Indigenous Director in order for them to gain television and on-set experience. This furthers Screenwest’s goal to create pathways for the Indigenous Screen sector, as detailed in Screenwest’s Indigenous Screen Strategy. The successful recipient is anticipated to commence in July 2018, subject to the finalisation of the production schedule.
For more information about eligibility and how to apply, please visit the Matchbox Pictures and Screenwest Indigenous Director Attachment page of the Screenwest website.
