IGEA (Interactive Games and Entertainment Association) welcomes back Industry specialist Jason Della Rocca for a new round of webinars and mentorship opportunities with the support of Screenwest, the WA Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, Screen Queensland, Film Victoria, Creative Victoria, the SAFC and the SA Department for Trade and Investment.
The impact of the coronavirus (COVID 19) has led to an unprecedented demand for content and with the incoming federal Digital Games Tax Offset the future of games in Australia is looking bright. To ensure that local studios can take advantage of these opportunities, Jason will be covering three core topics for success:
- Keys to Success: Business Strategies for the Win
- Pitching + Funding Refresher
- Landscape and Competitive Analysis
These topics will be held as webinars, they are free and open to all members of the Australian games industry.
In addition, 10 studios will get the exclusive chance of receiving one-on-one personal business-development mentorship from Jason, including introductions to his personal network of investors and publishers.
Through the support of state agencies, the program mentorship opportunities are allocated as the following:
- Two developers from Queensland, thanks to the support of Screen Queensland
- Four developers from Victoria, thanks to the support of Film Victoria and Creative Victoria
- Two developers from South Australia, thanks to the support of the South Australian Film Corporation and the SA Department for Trade and Investment
- Two developers from Western Australia, thanks to the support of Screenwest and Western Australian Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
Screenwest through Lotterywest, is excited to support IGEA in presenting this important series for game and interactive sector developers and studios.
Screenwest Head of Strategic Projects and Screen Investment, Matthew Horrocks said, “IGEA plays such an important role of advocating for the sector and supporting it’s development. This will undoubtedly open up amazing new opportunities for our WA local creatives.”
