The Heights Season 2 premieres on 12 March on ABC and iView
Critically acclaimed television drama series The Heights will return to the ABC and iView on 12 March, 2020. The second season brings audiences back to the inner-city neighbourhood of Arcadia Heights as it continues to explore the relationships between the residents of the Arcadia social housing tower and the rapidly gentrifying community that surrounds it. Season two continues to showcase the life-affirming, family-friendly storytelling audiences have come to expect and with heart, humour and honesty viewers will see their favourite characters pull together to triumph over life’s hardships.
Created by Warren Clarke (who hails from Perth) and Que Minh Luu, both season one and two of The Heights were shot and post produced exclusively in Western Australia, with filming taking place at ABC’s East Perth studios as well as locations across the City of Perth and City of Vincent. Both seasons have provided countless opportunities for Western Australia’s actors and crew.

Producer of The Heights Peta Astbury Bulsara explained, “WA is second to none with the level of training it provides through its world class tertiary screen programs and also being the home of WAAPA, which means the level of talent coming out of WA is astronomical. We secured our amazing WA cast and crew from both near and far – to work across both season one and two, enabling us to be almost entirely WA, which has been a fantastic process.”
Astbury Bulsara continued, “Coupled with the amazing support of Screenwest meant that we could deliver a different view of Australia with a series innovative in its production methodology and critically acclaimed as it has been. The wealth of talent involved in making The Heights is just phenomenal and we can’t wait to share season two in March!“
Willie Rowe, CEO of Screenwest added, “The Heights has been a phenomenal series for the Western Australian film industry, which has ensured Western Australian talent and creatives have sustained steady employment, whilst having their talents showcased to a national audience. Screenwest is exceptionally proud to have supported both season one and two of The Heights and hope broadcasters can see the value in presenting such series to the Australian public.”
Audiences will soon be able to enjoy the thirty new episodes as part of the second season of The Heights, with season one now available to stream on iView for those who would like to catch up on the brilliant drama.
The first episode of The Heights Season 2 will screen at 8pm on March 12 on ABC
