Pixel Expo: Level 2 kicks off tomorrow
Experience the latest and greatest in gaming and animation technology, meet local developers and play video game tournaments at the two-day expo, taking place this weekend at the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Western Australian Gaming and animation expo Pixel Expo: Level 2 is set to kick off tomorrow, running from 5-6 August at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Celebrating the diverse worlds of video games and animation, Pixel Expo is in its second year and brings together gaming enthusiasts, animators, developers, and industry professionals from all over the world. The two-day event showcases the latest and greatest in gaming and animation technology, featuring exhibits from top gaming and animation companies as well as up-and-coming independent developers.
Attendees can expect to see displays of the latest video games and consoles, as well as over 150 traders and artists selling their wares. There are also booths featuring the latest animation software, hardware and techniques, well as arcade and retro video games available for playing. Local digital games on offer include Screenwest-supported projects GHOST CAM, developed through the Interactive Pilot Fund in 2019, and Misc. A Tiny Tale, Boxman and Nekograms, three digital games funded through the Digital Games Production Fund earlier this year.
In addition to the exhibits, Pixel Expo: Level 2 features a number of special events and activities. These include panel discussions on industry trends and topics, and even video gaming tournaments where attendees can compete against each other for prizes.
Screenwest currently has three rounds of digital games funding open for applications, including the Digital Games Production Fund, Digital Games Business Accelerator Fund and GCAP Travel Support. Guidelines and application materials are available here.
