About the series
Invisible Boys is a poignant coming-of-age tale that explores the challenges faced by a group of teenage boys as they come to terms with their sexuality in a regional Australian town.
About the Attachment
Role: Costume Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 8 January – Friday, 8 March 2024 (nine weeks)
Location: Perth & Mid West region
Production Company: Invisible Boys Pty Ltd
The successful candidate will complete nine consecutive weeks as a paid Costume Assistant Attachment under the expert guidance of the Costume Designer, where they will:
- Gain an understanding of the costume department and the requirements on an Australian television series.
- Gain hands-on experience in costume making, art finishing and preparing fittings.
- Observe and gain an understanding of the costing process.
- Develop an understanding of how the costume department interacts with other departments and how departments collaborate to bring together a television series.
If regional travel is required the production will provide accommodation, per diems and travel costs to the Attachment if located outside the Perth area.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for these roles, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- A demonstrated and genuine interest in a career in the costume department.
- A basic understanding of costume design and film and television production setups.
- A basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and email.
- Good attention to detail.
