Boom Swinger Attachment on Blueback
A Professional Attachment opportunity is available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming Feature Film Blueback. Applications close Monday, 11 January 2021 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Attachment
The successful candidate will complete a 7-week Boom Swinger Attachment under the expert guidance of Sound Recordist Trevor Hope where they will:
- Receive on set training with an experienced sound crew and an experienced Sound Recordist.
- Have the opportunity to work on a large-scale feature film
- Develop proficiency with radio mic techniques used in production sound
- Learn correct boom pole techniques
- Cultivate an understanding of other department roles

The successful recipient is anticipated to commence in the role on 8 February 2021. The position will be on location in Bremer Bay with accommodation provided.
If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.

In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Positive attitude
- Good problem-solving skills
- Genuine interest in developing a career in the sound department

Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- Comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.

Applications are to be submitted by email to funding@screenwest.com.au. For emails larger than 8MB, submit your application through Screenwest’s Hightail Account.
An application receipt will be forwarded to the applicant within two working days to confirm that Screenwest has received the application. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact Screenwest if an application receipt has not been received within this timeframe.
