Audience and Community Engagement Fund Open for Tier Two Applications
Screenwest is calling for submissions to the Audience and Community Engagement Fund (ACEF). Applications close Monday, 8 June 2020 at 5:00pm AWST.
The Audience and Community Engagement Fund aims to assist organisations to create and organise activities which enrich and elevate the Western Australian screen industry. Screenwest is committed to supporting the promotion of Western Australian productions and practitioners to their local community through these activities which make a rich, cultural contribution to a vibrant WA.
Such activities may include, but are not limited to, curated public screenings, festivals, online engagement activities between Western Australian filmmakers and the public or tours that provide opportunities for Western Australian audiences to see and experience quality Western Australian screen content and stories.
Now more than ever, Screenwest considers the need to encourage community connection and engagement vital to the sustainability of the screen industry. By opening the ACEF funding round for Tier Two applications, Screenwest hopes to support innovative and accessible activities which will showcase unique offerings from Western Australian filmmakers and reach new audiences. In light of COVID-19 restrictions on public events and activities, all applications must be able to take place in accordance with public health restrictions. (i.e. through utilising online platforms etc or have COVID contingency and adaption plans in place.)
“From micro community run screenings sharing WA favourites to independent film festivals and everything in between, these screen culture activities are opportunities to continue to use the screen medium as a connector in our community, celebrating our stories and diversity. We look forward to seeing new innovative ways to make these events happen now online and in planning for when restrictions ease,” said Screenwest CEO Willie Rowe.
This round is for Tier Two (2) projects only. Tier Two (2) projects range from $2,000 up to $10,000 per annum per application for smaller and emerging festivals, tours, projects or activities in Western Australia.
