Applications now open for MIFF 37º PostScript & Direct 2018

Screenwest is offering up to six places for Western Australia screenwriters, directors and/or writer-directors to participate in the exclusive Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) 37º PostScript & Direct networking program within the MIFF 37º South Market. Applications close Monday, 11 June 2018 at 5:00pm WST.

Selected screenwriters will have the opportunity to meet with participant producers, hone their skills in pitching, and broaden their producer contact base.

Selected directors will be able to pitch themselves, their skills, genre interests/aspirations and body of work to participant producers as a potential candidate to direct future projects on their slates.

Screenwest will cover the cost of each participant’s registration fee directly to MIFF, and give the successful applicant a set amount of $1,000 in funding towards their travel and accommodation costs.

Applicants will be assessed on their:

• track record;
• current slate of projects in development; and
• stage of their career and benefits they will gain from this experience.

Screenwriters applying to the program are expected to have a project they are pitching.

Directors might not be pitching a specific project, but rather seeking to interest producers in their skills and track record.

Please be aware, that if selected to participate in PostScript&Direct in 2018, that the contents in this form will be used directly in the PS&D “Pink Book” that is seen by participating producers, so it’s important that it’s completed following the instructions within.

It is anticipated that applicants will be notified by 18 June of a decision.
