Initiate Program
This four-day workshop, will provide a hands-on introduction to the basics of filmmaking led by Dev Hasan. Dev Hasan is an ex-Perth Cinematographer, Filmmaker and Lecturer based in Sydney. He has been working in the Australian Film and Television Industry for over 18 years.
Participants will develop a concept, plan the production, record on camera and then edit into a short film. On the last day the short films will be showcased in a final screening presented to the class.
The workshop is introductory in nature and is not suitable for people who are enrolled in or completing screen or media studies at a tertiary level.
The course will cover content creation on two levels:
- INDUSTRY LEVEL: participants will experience working with professionals with specialised equipment.
- PRACTICAL AND CREATIVE LEVEL: participants will be encouraged to conceive and produce engaging screen content.
The course aims to provide an entry level overview to making and developing stories. It will establish an achievable framework where participants will be empowered to create their own content.
