THE ANTARCTICA EXPERIENCE is screening exclusively at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle until Sunday, 14 October 2018.
THE ANTARCTICA EXPERIENCE is a virtual reality film shot in 3D, 360-degree, high-definition video—and it’s the next best thing to visiting the frozen continent.
The VR adventure is a unique opportunity to explore a day in the life of Antarctic expeditioners on this mysterious environment.

The ground-breaking immersive experience is the work of WA filmmaker Briege Whitehead, of White Spark Pictures, who partnered with BAFTA award-winning director Phil Harper, known for his work on DAVID ATTENBOROUGH’S GREAT BARRIER REEF VR DIVE.
With this virtual reality world-first, you’ll wear a VR headset and see first-hand the work of Australian scientists in understanding climate change, managing eco-systems and conserving the unique wildlife.
Along the way, you’ll also:
- Explore Antarctica from a helicopter cockpit, even landing on a glacier
- Jump in a Zodiac to visit a penguin colony and meet the new chicks
- Explore Australia’s Davis Research Station and learn about the logistics that go into surviving the harsh Antarctic conditions, and
- View the spectacular Southern Lights in high definition.
