From an action-packed game about a runaway computer virus to a fantasy set in the Jewish quarter of Warsaw, the projects supported through the fund span a multitude of genres including virtual reality (VR), adventure, puzzle, sports, horror, role-playing (RPG) and more.
Screenwest is pleased to announce that 13 Western Australian digital game projects have received funding through our new Digital Games Production Fund.
Launched in December 2022, the Digital Games Production Fund provides grants to Western Australian companies and key creatives to develop and release high-quality, diverse and engaging digital games. The program is multi-staged, with games studios and developers able to receive funding for the pre-production, production and post-production phases of game development.
The fund is designed to help WA studios and developers bring their ideas and prototypes to a level that will gain interest from other investors and partners, have successful releases and achieve high player retention post launch.
From an action-packed game about a runaway computer virus to a fantasy set in the Jewish quarter of Warsaw, the projects supported through the fund span a multitude of genres including virtual reality (VR), adventure, puzzle, sports, horror, role-playing (RPG) and more.
“We were blown away by both the quality and quantity of applications – the new fund proved more popular than we anticipated, making the selection process a lengthy but thoroughly enjoyable undertaking. The diversity of applications received clearly demonstrates the talent and the sheer number of passionate game developers here in WA. Congratulations to the projects we’re supporting this round and the teams behind them!” said Mark Smith, Screenwest Digital Games Manager.
