Deadline for Expressions of Interest to Meet with Paul Williams in Broome

Screenwest Documentary Manager Paul Williams will visit Broome on Wednesday, 15 July 2020 to connect with regional practitioners.

Paul has worked in the screen industry for over 25 years with over 10 years experience as a film editor and over 15 years’ experience producing and directing documentaries. One of Paul’s major passions has been filming in developing nations and remote Australia.

As Screenwest’s Documentary Manager, Paul oversees the delivery and assessment of all documentary production and development initiatives and programs we offer.

He is keen to meet with documentary and factual filmmakers in and around Broome to learn about their upcoming projects and provide guidance regarding documentary production or applications.

About Paul Williams

Paul is a multi-award-winning writer/director whose latest work is the critically acclaimed feature documentary Gurrumul about Indigenous singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. Gurrumul has won many awards, and its Australian Box Office is in excess of $1 million.

Paul completed a Graduate Diploma in Documentary Filmmaking at the Victorian College of Arts and prior to this completed a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Letters at Melbourne University.

After ten years working as a film editor, Paul focused exclusively on directing and writing. He has over 15 years’ experience producing and directing documentaries, and has extensive experience filming in the third world and developing nations and remote Australia.
