Two attachments on upcoming feature film
A Safety Supervisor Attachment and Unit Publicist Attachment are available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming feature film based in Kalgoorlie and Perth. Applications close Wednesday, 25 May at 5:00pm AWST.
About the production
The production is a feature film based in Kalgoorlie and Perth, being produced by Lizzette Atkins (Looking for Grace), Bruno Charlesworth (Ladies in Black) and Western Australia’s Megan Wynn (The Childhood of a Leader).
About the Attachments
Please note: due to the regional location the production will provide accommodation and travel costs to both Attachments if located outside the Kalgoorlie-Boulder area.
Role: Safety Supervisor Attachment
Dates: Monday, 30 May – Friday, 8 July 2022 (six weeks)
Location: Kalgoorlie, WA & Perth, WA
Production Company: Unicorn Films, Immaculate Conception & Wynn Media
The successful candidate will complete six consecutive weeks on location as a Safety Supervisor Attachment under the expert guidance of Safety Supervisor, Alex McArthur and Safety Consultant, John Fairhead where they will:
- Understand the general role of a Safety Supervisor and understand the processes, procedures and scope that surrounds the role.
- Shadow the Safety Supervisor on set.
- Attend production and safety meetings.
- Learn about risk assessments and why they are they necessary.
- Learn how to identify risks and hazards under the guidance of the safety Supervisor throughout the shoot.
- Gain understanding of OHS legislation and regulations as they relate to screen production.
Role: Unit Publicist Attachment
Dates: Wednesday, 1 June – Wednesday, 13 July 2022 (six weeks)
Location: Kalgoorlie, WA & Perth, WA
Production Company: Unicorn Films, Immaculate Conception & Wynn Media
The successful candidate will complete six consecutive weeks on location as a Unit Publicist Attachment under the expert guidance of Unit Publicist, Adriana Begovich where they will:
- Attend meetings undertaken by the Unit Publicist to assist delivery of the production’s publicity requirements.
- Observe and help arrange EPK interviews.
- Assist with the cast gallery shoot.
- Assist with the regional press requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
Safety Supervisor
Essential:
- Be observant, patient, polite and diplomatic.
- Have great attention to detail and be proactive.
- Have strong verbal communication skills and be able to manage a range of tasks concurrently.
- Be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Recommended:
- Have a general understanding of how a set functions and screen production techniques, camera positions and equipment.
Unit Publicist
Essential:
- Be observant, considerate and calm.
- Be a creative thinker, with attention to detail and be proactive.
- Have strong organization skills and have the ability to adhere to last minute changes or updates.
- Have strong interpersonal skills and can act with diplomacy and manage multiple stakeholder’s simultaneously.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Recommended:
- Extra consideration will be given to those applicants who have prior project management or coordination expertise.
