Two attachments on upcoming documentary series
An Edit Assistant attachment and Researcher / Post-Production Assistant attachment are available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming documentary series. Applications close Tuesday, 25 January 2022 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the production
The production is a documentary series set to film in Perth. Premiering later in 2022, it will be produced by WA production company Joined Up Films (The Truth About Anxiety with Celia Pacquola, Is Australia Racist?, What Does Australia Really Think About…).
About the Attachments
Role: Edit Assistant
Dates: Monday, 31 January – Friday, 4 March 2022 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Joined Up Films
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks under the expert guidance of the Post Producer and Offline Editors where they will:
- Gain experience using Avid Media Composer to prepare media for multiple editors.
- Acquire organization skills to track and manage high volume of footage.
- Work with and support Avid based post-production unit.
- Garner better understanding of Avid post-production workflow.
- Acquire organization skills to track and manage high volume of footage.
- Learn and gain experience of working with production and post departments.
- Learn about the post-production delivery process for a commercial broadcaster.
Role: Researcher / Post-Production Assistant
Dates: Monday, 31 January – Friday, 4 March 2022 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Joined Up Films
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks under the expert guidance of the Post Producer and the Line Producer where they will:
- Work with and support the Production Team.
- Gain exposure to departmental production processes, join weekly production and editorial meetings.
- Garner hands on research methodology experience.
- Work with and support Avid based post-production unit.
- Garner better understanding of Avid post-production workflow and gain exposure to working to deadlines.
- Gain exposure to post-production delivery process.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
Edit Assistant
Essential:
- Genuine interest to pursue a career in post-production.
- Basic knowledge of computer technology and experience using Avid Media Composer software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem solving attitude, team player and desire to learn.
Recommended:
- Portfolio of previous experience in post-production.
Researcher / Post-Production Assistant
Essential:
- Inquisitive by nature, able to follow instructions.
- Some knowledge of post-production systems and the roles of a production office.
- Team player and solutions orientated.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
