A Professional Attachment opportunity is available through the Screenwest Crew Attachment Program on an upcoming TV Series Aussie Gold Hunters Series 6. Applications close Monday, 20 July 2020 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Attachment
The successful candidate will complete a six-week Story Producer Attachment under the expert guidance of Katherine Barrett where they will:
- learn the research and story producing processes of Aussie Gold Hunters.
- Craft and generate stories in collaboration with contributors.
- Learn to write and structure pre-shoot scripts.
- Build mutually positive relationships with cast and crew.
- Attend weekly production meetings with mentor.
- Work alongside and assist mentor with research – phone calls with contributors, internet research and information gathering.
- Assist and contribute to pitching story ideas for upcoming shoots.
- Work alongside mentor during casting calls for one off contributors for individual shoots.
- Assist mentor in planning, writing, structuring and producing shoots.
- Work alongside mentor when conducting editorial briefings with Field Directors, Camera Operators and Sound.
- Work alongside and assist mentor in collaboration with Line Producer and Production Coordinator in relation to scheduling and logistical planning.
- Sit in on editorial briefings between mentor and post team.

If the right candidate cannot be found for this role, the attachment may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- high level interpersonal skills;
- good editorial instinct;
- excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- well organised;
- limited previous experience advantageous.
Attachment Conditions
It is expected the successful Attachment will:
- comply with the Producer’s workplace rules and requirements for safety and behaviour.
- Comply with all lawful and reasonable directions given to the Attachment by officers or employees of the Producer during the Term of the Attachment.
- Keep confidential any and all confidential information of the Producer that comes into the Attachment’s possession.
