Screenwest is pleased to open Scripted, Documentary and Footloose Production Funding Rounds, closing Monday, 13 December 2021 at 5:00pm AWST.
Screenwest’s Production Funds provide support to distinctive, high-quality and diverse projects which deliver strong outcomes for Western Australia.
To support the WA Industry to ensure the continued delivery of economic, cultural and community outcomes for the state, Screenwest is opening the second production funding round for the 2021-22 financial year.
Applications for Scripted, Documentary and Footloose Production Rounds are open on the Screenwest SmartyGrants Portal now and close on Monday, 13 December 2021 at 5:00pm AWST.
About the Funding Programs
The Scripted Production Fund provides support to Western Australian producers for production finance for feature films, telemovies and scripted series with significant marketplace attachments from traditional and new distribution platforms (with significant audience share).
The Documentary Production Fund provides support to Western Australian producers for production finance for feature length documentary films and factual series with significant marketplace attachments from traditional and new online platforms and distributors.
The Footloose Production Fund provides production funding to secure high profile, market driven, local, national and international footloose, scripted screen productions to Western Australia to showcase local stories, locations and/or culture to an international audience and to assist in the development of the Western Australian screen sector.
How to Apply
The full guidelines, application materials and eligibility criteria for each funding program are available on the Production Funding page of the Screenwest website.
All program guidelines are to be read in conjunction with the Screenwest Terms of Trade, which are available on the Screenwest website.
Whilst there have been no changes to the production funding guidelines, applicants should always read the latest guidelines for each initiative which are uploaded to the website on the round opening date.
All funding applications will now be required to be submitted through the SmartyGrants portal. A link to the correct form for each funding round will be included in the relevant fund guidelines.
We ask all applicants to take note of the closing deadline, as all applications through the SmartyGrants portal close promptly at 5:00pm AWST. For more information on applying through SmartyGrants, read our helpful tips here.
