Screenwest has increased its Scripted Development Funding caps, reflecting industry feedback and the evolving needs of the local sector. These updates include significant increases to funding caps across various development and production categories.
New rounds of Scripted Project Development Funding, Scripted Production Funding and Footloose Production Funding are open, with the updated funding caps now applicable.
Key Changes to Funding Caps
Scripted Project Development Fund
Contribution towards the next phase of development to secure market attachment or production finance.
- Cap increased from $25,000 to $35,000 per project, per application.
- No change to the maximum cap per project of $50,000.
Matched Development Investment Fund
Provides West Australian practitioners or production companies with matched funding against secured third-party development support.
- Cap increased from $25,000 to a $50,000 maximum per project, per application.
- No change to the maximum cap per project of $50,000.
- No change to the maximum cap per project of $75,000 for series.
Scripted Production Fund – WA Producer Development Investment
After receipt of scripted production funding and approval of the post-production drawdown milestone, the Western Australia Resident Producer with projects that have exceed $5 million in QWAE will be invited to apply out of round for development investment funding.
- Cap increased from $25,000 to $35,000 per project, per application.
- No change to the maximum cap per project of $50,000.
Scripted Production Fund – Travel Funding
Contribution towards the cost of attending business meetings that fall outside of the current travel guidelines.
- Cap increased from $5,000 to $20,000, provided in a single tranche.
These updates aim to support, attract, and retain WA talent, increase crew capacity, and boost local production levels.
