Screenwest welcomes new Board Members Anni Browning and Annie Fogarty AM
Screenwest is delighted to announce the appointments of Anni Browning and Annie Fogarty to the Screenwest Board of Directors.
Screenwest is delighted to announce the appointments of Anni Browning and Annie Fogarty AM to the Screenwest Board of Directors.
Anni Browning and Annie Fogarty AM join Board Chair John Driscoll, and current Directors Michael Scott, John Atkins AO, Sue Taylor, Kylie du Fresne, Donna Oxenham and Susan Hunt, with Directors Christopher Holman and Bryce Menzies departing last month.

Anni Browning is an advisor to Film Finances who has worked in film and television for over 30 years. Her career spans many areas of the industry including design, production and as a producer. Her credits include features, documentaries, games and television. She has worked for government film funding bodies in South Australia and New South Wales and has consulted for the ABC, the AFC, NZ On Air and the Australian Broadcasting Authority. Anni has been a Councillor for the Screen Producers Australia (SPA), the SA chair of Women in Film and Television (WIFT) and co-convenor of Queer Screen. She has been associated with Film Finances in Australasia since 1997 and was Managing Director when she stepped aside in June 2019. Later that year she was recognised with SPA’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Annie Fogarty AM is Chairperson and co-founder of the Fogarty Foundation which she established with her husband Brett in 2000. The Foundation is a social venturer providing educational opportunities to help build strong communities in Western Australia. She is involved in a number of boards and committees in the education, community and arts sector and is Ambassador for Children and Young People WA, Teach For Australia and EdConnect. Annie was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2013 for her work in the advancement of education in Western Australia. She has received an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from the University of Western Australia and an Honorary Doctorate of Education from Edith Cowan University. Annie is 2020 WA Australian of the Year.
Screenwest’s Board of Directors are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation and its governance. The Board brings a diverse and extensive set of skills, knowledge and experiences to the organisation and WA screen industry.
Active WA-based industry practitioners are precluded from being appointed as Board Directors to remove issues of conflict of interest in funding decisions.
