Registrations open for Screen Careers’ Freelancer Leadership & Management Workshop
Supported through Screenwest's Industry Development – Workshops and Masterclasses Fund, the one-day March workshop is designed for mid-career and established Western Australian freelancers.
Registrations are now open for Screen Careers’ upcoming one-day Freelancer Leadership & Management Workshop, taking place in Perth on Saturday, 15 March.
The workshop is supported through Screenwest’s Industry Development – Workshops and Masterclasses Fund, with above and below-the-line workshops for Western Australian screen practitioners running throughout 2025.
Screen Careers: Freelancer Leadership & Management Workshop
Designed for mid-career and established Western Australian freelance crew members, this workshop aims to provide participants with practical tools and exercises including:
- Communication Systems: How do you communicate with your teams? How do you build a positive team culture quickly?
- Legal Responsibilities: What is the legislation that relates to behaviour on set?
- Conflict Management: How to deal with conflict – and prevent it in the first place.
- Appropriate Behaviour: What it is and how to manage it.
- Resilience for you and for your crew, and how to achieve it.
- What Now? What will you be doing differently?
After the formal training, each attendee will have access to three online “Leadership & Management Deep Dive” workshops, to further their learning. These will cover subjects relating specifically to Leadership and Management skills – e.g. Having Difficult Conversations, Dealing with Bad Behaviour or Leading Inclusively – and will be offered over the six-month period after the workshop.
This workshop has been specially co-designed with Screen Careers by Addie Orfila from the UK who trains for ScreenSkills, Netflix and Amazon. It will be delivered in Perth by Screen Careers’ Programmes Manager Jeanie Davison.
