About Keeping Hope
Keeping Hope is a one-hour documentary for NITV, exploring the hidden complexities of living in the Kimberley. The remote region renowned for its stunning tourist destinations has become a place with high rates of suicide among young Indigenous people, and in this documentary, actor Mark Coles Smith (Will Australia Ever Have a Black Prime Minister?) goes on a deeply personal journey to investigate why this is happening and what can be done about it. The creative team also features director Tyson Mowarin, producer Marlikka Perdrisat and executive producers, Joined Up’s Jacqueline Willinge and Dan Brown.
About the Attachment
Role: Production Coordinator/Researcher
Dates: Friday, 27 May – Friday, 24 June 2022 (four weeks with the possibility of a one week extension)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Joined Up Films
The successful candidate will complete four consecutive weeks as a Production Coordinator/Researcher Attachment under the expert guidance of Joined Up’s Line Producer, Suzy Hounslow where they will:
- Work with and support the production team in preparation for a documentary film shoot.
- Gain understanding of daily production logistics.
- Gain exposure to departmental production processes, join weekly production and editorial meetings.
- Garner hands on research methodology experience.
- Gain understanding of post-production and production deliverables.

- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Some knowledge of the roles of a production office.
- Inquisitive by nature, able to follow instructions.
- A desire to learn to help achieve professional interests and goals.
