About the series
Based on Shaun Tan’s memories of growing up in the northern suburbs of Perth, Western Australia, the series explores when ‘almost thirteen-year-old’ Klara and her six-year-old brother Pim move to Outer Suburbia with their newly single mother Lucy. The siblings’ summer holiday turns into a series of unexpected and surreal adventures. The family goes on a roller-coaster ride of emotion, encountering weird and miraculous phenomena as they adapt to their new reality.
About the Attachment
Role: Production Assistant Attachment
Dates: Monday, 23 September – Friday, 1 November 2024 (six weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Siamese
Under the expert guidance of Siamese producer, Francesca Hope, the successful candidate will:
- Attend production meetings, briefing sessions and client reviews.
- Take accurate notes and distribute them in a timely fashion.
- Participate in the development of and assist in facilitating training workshop/s.
- Develop a working knowledge of the proposed WA pipeline and production process, including inter-departmental requirements.
- Gain experience in a busy studio environment.
WA First Nations practitioners and WA practitioners from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.
If the right candidate cannot be found for these roles, they may be offered in another department.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
In addition to the requirements in the Screenwest Crew Attachment Guidelines and Terms of Trade, the successful applicant will possess:
- Solid knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
- A good understanding of the production processes for screen and animation.
- Confidence in asking questions and be forward thinking.
Special consideration will be given to applicants with an understanding of
- Animation;
- Effects and look dev;
- Lighting;
- Compositing departments and everything in between.
