Paul Williams joins Screenwest as new Documentary Manager
Screenwest is excited to welcome Paul Damien Williams as our Documentary Manager.
Paul joins Franziska Wagenfeld and Matthew Horrocks in the Screenwest Development and Production team. As Documentary Manager, Paul will be responsible for the management of Screenwest’s factual funding programs, including the Documentary Production Fund and the Documentary Development Investment Fund.
“We are delighted to have Paul join our team,” said Development and Production Executive Franziska Wagenfeld. “Paul’s wealth of experience will be a great asset for the factual screen sector in WA.”

About Paul
Paul is a multi-award-winning writer/director whose latest work is the critically acclaimed feature documentary GURRUMUL about Indigenous singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu. GURRUMUL has won many awards, and its Australian Box Office is in excess of $1 million.
Paul completed a Graduate Diploma in Documentary Filmmaking at the Victorian College of Arts and prior to this completed a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Letters at Melbourne University.
After ten years working as a film editor, Paul focused exclusively on directing and writing. He has over 15 years’ experience producing and directing documentaries, and has extensive experience filming in the third world and developing nations and remote Australia.
