Screenwest has welcomed three new members to the Screenwest Board: Kylie du Fresne and Michael Scott as of 1 December 2018, and Colleen Hayward from 1 January 2019.
The Screenwest (Australia) Ltd Board of Directors was announced in July 2017 and over the past 15-months has assisted the organisation to engage with the sector and provided advice on trends and issues impacting the Western Australian screen industry.
Ms du Fresne, Mr Scott and Ms Hayward bring wide experience and a varied skill set to the Board that will benefit the organisation and the Western Australian screen sector. Their brief bios are included below.
Outgoing board members are Sally Carbon, Carol Innes and John Gardner.

Kylie du Fresne
Kylie du Fresne is a Partner at Goalpost Pictures where she produces both television and feature films.
Ms du Fresne is the Executive Producer of the critically acclaimed ABC TV/Sundance Channel television series Cleverman and Producer/Executive Producer of Fighting Season, a six-part drama series for Foxtel Australia and Sky Vision. Her film credits include hit The Sapphires, Holding the Man and this year’s Upgrade, produced with Blumhouse.
Ms du Fresne has received many awards over the years including LOGIE Awards, ACCTA (AFI) and a Crystal Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. She is currently a producer on the film Top End Wedding.
Michael Scott
Michael Scott leads the Deloitte Digital practice in Western Australia and is a senior leader in the state’s technology industry, with 20 years’ consulting experience serving large enterprises, public sector agencies and not for profit organisations.
Mr Scott’s previous board and management committee roles have included Befriend Inc – an organisation committed to building inclusive communities and addressing social isolation – and the Australian Information Industry Association WA Council.
Colleen Hayward
Colleen Hayward is a senior Noongar woman with extensive family links throughout the south-west of WA and is also the Head of Kurongkurl Katitjin, Edith Cowan University’s Centre for Indigenous and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Equity and Indigenous.
Ms Hayward has an extensive background in a range of areas including health, education, training, employment, housing, child protection and law and justice as well as considerable experience in policy and management.
Ms Hayward is well-known for her work for, and on behalf of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and won the 2008 National NAIDOC Aboriginal Person of the Year Award.
