Life in Pictures short film comp returns to Revelation

Revelation Perth International Film Festival has again partnered with the Departments of Communities and Screenwest to raise awareness and challenges misconceptions about ageing with the short film competition, Life in Pictures.
After a hugely successful competition in 2017, which saw interest from around the world in the project, Life in Pictures will return to Revelation in July with the opportunity for local filmmakers of all skill levels to participate.
Three categories will be open to Western Australian filmmakers with films up to two minutes in duration. Competition entries should highlight how older people contribute to WA’s communities, including their contribution to families, culture, the economy, volunteering and tourism.
Revelation Festival Director Richard Sowada said it was a brilliant project to be associated with.
“It’s an enormously rewarding grass-roots initiative that has deep and important creative and social impacts and we’re proud to be involved again from the free workshops to the mentoring to the gala screening night – it’s something special at every step.”
A total prize pool of $20,000 is available and includes cash, cameras and software. All winning films will be screened at the Revelation Perth International Film Festival in July and via Revelation’s Rev on Demand platform.
The call for entries are now open and filmmakers have until 18 May to submit their films. Details can be accessed from www.revelationfilmfest.org
Life in Pictures is a creative collaboration between the Department of Communities, Revelation Perth International Film Festival and Screenwest.
