‘Kid Snow’ opening Revelation Perth International Film Festival on 3 July
Filmed in Perth and Kalgoorlie, Paul Goldman's 1970s-set feature will make its Western Australian premiere at the festival's 27th edition, which will take place from 3-14 July.
Western Australian feature Kid Snow is set to open the Revelation Perth International Film Festival’s 2024 program, with the festival delivering an exciting lineup of Australian and international films next month from 3-14 July.
This year’s festival presents over 30 feature films and documentaries as well as over 80 short films in a program that also includes the annual Industrial Revelations industry program of talks/workshops, retrospective screenings and a family friendly animation showcase.
Kid Snow‘s premiere at Revelation follows the film’s world premiere at the 71st Sydney Film Festival this month, where it is one of three WA features premiering. Filmed in Perth and Kalgoorlie, Kid Snow is set in a 1970s sweat-drenched world of tent boxing in outback Western Australia. Directed by Paul Goldman, the film stars UK actors Billy Howle and Tom Bateman, alongside Australia’s Phoebe Tonkin and a fantastic ensemble cast of WA actors including Tasma Walton, Mark Coles Smith and Shaka Cook.
Western Australian content will continue to be featured throughout the festival’s run, with Screenwest-supported shorts Mr Kimberley, Marlu Man, Bird Drone, Touch, Tee Ken Ng, and In Conversation with Myself and Others screening as part of Revelation’s popular Westralia Day alongside a slew of short dramas, comedies and documentaries.
The highly-anticipated annual event Get Your Shorts On! will close this year’s festival and includes the 2024 Life in Pictures shortlisted films as well as the short documentaries commissioned by the City of Vincent.
The festival runs from Wednesday, 3 July to Sunday, 14 July at Luna Leederville and SX, with special events also taking place at WA Museum Boola Bardip, The Backlot, Scitech and City of Perth and State Libraries. The full lineup is online and on sale now at revelationfilmfest.org.
Kid Snow is supported by Screenwest, Lotterywest and the Western Australian Regional Screen Fund. The film will be released in cinemas nationwide on 12 September.
