About Keeping Hope
Keeping Hope is a one-hour documentary for NITV, exploring the hidden complexities of living in the Kimberley. The remote region renowned for its stunning tourist destinations has become a place with high rates of suicide among young Indigenous people, and in this documentary producer/presenter Mark Coles Smith (Will Australia Ever Have a Black Prime Minister?) goes on a deeply personal journey to investigate why this is happening and what can be done about it. The creative team also features producer Marlikka Perdrisat and executive producers, Joined Up’s Jacqueline Willinge and Dan Brown.
About the Attachment
Role: Junior Post Production Coordinator/Archive Researcher
Dates: Monday, 25 July 2022 – Friday 26 August 2022 (five weeks)
Location: Perth, WA
Production Company: Joined Up Films
The successful candidate will complete five consecutive weeks as a Junior Post Production Coordinator and Researcher Attachment under the expert guidance of Joined Up’s Post Production Manager, Bonnie Bessen where they will:
- Work with and support the post-production team.
- Gain exposure to departmental production processes, working with the Production Coordinator.
- Gain understanding of post-production and production deliverables.
- Research and identify archive footage as requested by the Post Director.
- Gain an understanding of daily production logistics and operation of a small independent production company delivering programming to national broadcasters.
- Gain understanding of the various roles operating within the independent production office including production coordinator, series producer, post director, edit assistant, offline editor.

- Have good written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude.
- Have good organizational skills and attention to detail.
