Screenwest recognises COVID-19 and the delay of WA’s planned full border opening is causing uncertainty and serious challenges for the WA screen industry.
We are actively working with the WA Government to provide as much clarity and support as possible for the industry.
Currently, production activity and events may continue in WA in accordance with WA Government COVID directions. For up-to-date information on Government directions visit www.wa.gov.au
Screenwest will continue to work closely with producers regarding projects that have conditional funding commitments to assess the likely impact on production in WA over the next six months.
To ensure the safety and health of Screenwest staff and stakeholders from 31 January 2022, and where possible, Screenwest organised events and meetings will occur online / over the phone.
Screenwest will continue to monitor government guidelines and update our practices and policies accordingly.
If you have read the Government requirements for entering WA from overseas or interstate and want to speak to someone about your production, please contact us.
“The wellbeing of filmmakers and the sustainability of the WA screen industry is of utmost importance to Screenwest and we encourage filmmakers and practitioners to reach out to Screenwest at any time.” said Rikki Lea Bestall, Screenwest CEO.
